LGBTQ* Services strives to provide opportunities to raise awareness and educate about gender, sexuality and topics impacting LGBTQ+ communities. The LGBTQ* Center is located above West Side Dining.

In the event any Stony Brook University student/faculty/staff member begins transitioning after the start of their career at Stony Brook University, there exists an opportunity for them to obtain a new photo on their University identification card. Additionally, A student/faculty/staff member has the ability to change the name on their University identification card to match their chosen or preferred name.

As it relates to the Chosen or Preferred Name Policy, a Stony Brook University student/faculty/staff member is able to change their Stony Brook email address to reflect their chosen or preferred name.

All-gender restrooms provide equal access to public facilities for those regardless of gender identity or expression.

Gender Inclusive Housing (GIH) is a housing option in which two or more students share a bedroom, suite and/or apartment regardless of the students' sex, gender identity or gender expression.

Stony Brook University has a variety of physical and mental health resources available to students.
